HUME CREEK ARABIANS

Breeding for Performance and Temperament

Endurance news

On Sunday 2nd May, 2009 we went down to watch the Bendemeer Endurance Ride, where two "Hume Creek" geldings were competing.

Hume Creek Khorageous now owned by David and Ros Oates and also Hume Creek Kaptain, owned by Chrissy Kemp  were entered for the 40 klm ride.

Khorageous was broken in in 2008 and this was to be his first 40klm ride. David is very happy with the way Khorageous is handling everything new. He is a dream to ride with nice smooth paces, his temperament is second to none and he is taking everything in his stride. After easily completing the 40 klm distance, he passed the vet check with all "A"'s - a great acheivement and congratulations must go to David for his good training and his quiet way with horses.

Three weeks prior to Bendemeer, Hume Creek Kaptain and his owner, Chrissy, headed to Tenterfield and successfully completed a 40klm ride on the Saturday and another 40 klm ride on the Sunday! Kaptain has successfully completed all the rides he and Chrissy have entered with never a vet out and always ridden barefoot - no boots either! Chrissy tells us she and Kaptain are a real team and Kap is pretty competitive out on the track! On Saturday at Bendemeer, this pair did the 15 klm social ride and backed up on Sunday for the "real ride", 40 klms. Once again, Kaptain vetted through with flying colours! As usual, he looked like he could go around again! Congratulations Chrissy, Kaptain looks amazing, you two have a special bond that's for sure.
