The mares of Hume Creek

ARABIAN PARK ROYALE

Registered No: F8112

Crabbet percentage: 45.96%

Sire: Arabian Prk Faraz (Farazdac x Sabah El Kheir)

Dam: Arabian Park Ruling Queen (Ansata El Hakim x Desert Queen)

Date of Birth: 13/12/1982

Colour: Bay, Star

Height: 15.1 hands

Loves: Being a mother

Dislikes: Needles and being fussed over.

Nickname: Roy

Royale is the matriarch of Hume Creek, we purchased her from Jaytee Stud in 1992 and in 1993 she was bred to "Arjai Summit" and produced the beautiful bay filly "Hume Creek Nazika". Since then she has produced 7 foals by River Oak Fame. Sadly she lost one foal that drowned in a dam. She is a very easy breeder, only ever needing one service to settle in foal. She wants no attention while she is foaling and prefers to be alone and needs no humans watching over her. Funnily enough, each year she alternates the sexes of her foals, so we never have to guess what she will produce!  Royale produces excellent riding types all with good feet, legs and bone.

Royale is the dam of  National Show Champion and Australian Champion Jaytee Chimere and is half sister to Jaytee Coppelia and Jaytee Giselle, both Australian National champions in hand and under saddle.

She has given us: Hume Creek Nazika by Arjai Summit: Hume Creek Khadir :Hume Creek Adina: Hume Creek Kaptain: Hume Creek Aliya:  Hume Creek Khanand  Hume Creek Aida all by River Oak Fame. H.C. Kaptain is in his first year of endurance training with his new owner and is proving to be "born for the job".

Roy is now in the safe hands of Clare Fleming. Roy was bred to Fame before she left Hume Creek and we do hope that she delivers another great foal later in 2008.

ARJAI JACINTA

Sire: Ralvon Pilgrim (Rikham x Trix Silver)

Dam: Royal Jann (Royaljan xAstarte)

Registered No: F9816

Crabbet percentage: 93.18%

D.O.B :23/01/84

Colour: Chestnut, blaze two white stockings

Height: 14.3 hands

Loves: Fame

Dislikes: Not being with Fame.

Nickname: Cinta

We aquired Jacinta from River Oak Stud in 1994. We wanted a quiet, well conformed mare to run with our young stallion River Oak Fame and she seemd the perfect choice. She had lost a foal a couple of years before and had not settled back in foal so we thought the best thing to do was to run her with Fame as nature intended. Two years later she produced a lovely bay filly"Hume Creek Ashara". Since then, she has produced  the chesnut gelding "Hume Creek Komanche", the bay gelding "Hume Creek Khommet" and another bay gelding" Hume Creek Khorageous". Cinta is the sweetest of all mares, she ran with Fame for over ten years and they have a very special bond. She is very easy going, always at the bottom of the pecking order but is an excellent, caring and protective mother, producing sound, well balanced horses bred to ride. Komanche recently competed in his first Quilty 160 klm endurance ride and completed with flying colours, he was then exported to the UAE where he is competing.  Khommet is a much loved family member and is owned by Sarah Whitty. Khorageous is now owned by David and Ros Oates and has been started under saddle and will commence an endurance career when old enough.

Cinta, together with her friend Chatari have a new home with Jo McMah at Oberon, we miss them terribly but know they are in good loving hands with Jo. Cinta was bred to Fame before leaving and we hope that she does produce another outstanding foal.

CHATARI

Sire: Count Chatain (Count Manilla imp. UK x Lady Tania)

Dam: Qatari (Ralvon Pilgrim x Quebec)

Registered No: F11823

Crabbet percentage: 87.12%

D.O.B. 27/12/1985

Colour: Chestnut, Blaze, 3 white stockings

Height: 14.2 hands

Loves: To bond with one mare in the band.

Dislikes: Zinc cream on her nose.

Nickname: Tari

We purchased Chatari from River Oak Stud for her excellent movement, crabbet type and very sweet nature. She is also a very easy going mare and quiet to handle in all ways. She has produced for us the bay gelding Hume Creek Khalij and the beautiful chestnut filly Hume Creek Arianna. Her foals have fantastic temperaments, outstanding movement and are all extremely pretty horses. Khalij was a constant "Classic Head" winner and has done endurance. Arianna is here at Hume Creek and she is a real eye catching mare who loves human company. Unfortunately, Chatari foundered some years ago and had a very long recovery which has left her with a mishapen foot but with a change in management, it has not recurred and she appears to have no ill effects.

Tari now has a new home with Jo McMah at Oberon, with Jacinta and she was also bred to Fame before leaving and we all have our fingers crossed she will have another beautiful foal.

RIVER OAK SILHOUETTE

Sire: Arabian Park Triumph (Arabian Prk Faraz x Desert Queen)

Dam: Ralvon Royal Serene. (Royaljan x Ralvon Serenity)

Registered No: F 15203

Crabbet percentage: 77.126%

D.O.B. 22/08/89

Colour: Bay

Height: 15 hands

Loves: A scratch on the tail.

Dislikes: Needles

Nickname: Sil

Silhouette was purchased as a three year old from River Oak Stud. Her beauty, colour, balanced body together with the kindest, darkest eyes immediately drew her to us. We delayed breeding from her until she was eight years old, so that we could show her, break her in and have some fun with her. She has amassed countless Championships in hand and under saddle. She has been Supreme Champion in hand and under saddle. Our daughter Dianna rode her in dressage competitions in the Goulburn and District and won Junior Rider of the Year and well as Novice Horse of the year with her. Dianna also won many rider Championships on her in the district. With an extremely laid back nature, Sil takes everything in her stride and never gets upset about anything, she is a joy to handle, ride and take anywhere.  Bred to Fame, she first produced the outstanding gelding Hume Creek Khalif, himself a Multi Supreme Champion in hand and under saddle , since then she produced  the colt, Hume Creek Khochise  and  then the  lovely filly Hume Creek Athiira. We then bred Silhouette to the lovely Hawley stallion Nazzai and this union produced Hume Creek Amel'ia. Her most recent filly is by Fame, Hume Creek Annikka. Her foals are outstanding, all bay with little white, easy going in nature and with great attitude, they love humans and are all very willing to please. Throughout all her breeding years, we have continued to ride her and she has retained her muscle tone and always looks a picture. We had a huge scare with Silhouette in 2002, when she was diagnosed with a Giant Cell Tumour (bone cancer) on her cheek. She was six months in foal with Ameli'a when she was operated on and we were very concerned that the operation would not be successful. A large piece of bone was removed along with the tumour and the vets felt it was a 60% chance the tumour had been arrested. She returned home with the advice  that it could return in four months or four years and to "Just keep an eye on her". Saddened by what might be, we just waited and hoped that she would live to bear her foal and take it through to weaning. Two fillies later and  four years on, she is fine with no evidence that the tumour has returned. We count our blessings every day that our very special girl is still with us.

In 2006, 16 years old and six years since her last show, we decided to take Sil out to our two local shows. With some work and preparation beforehand, she looked a picture and we came home with 2 Supreme Championships in hand, 2 Championships and 1 Reserve Championship under saddle including Champion Local Hack and  Supreme Champion All Breeds Ridden Horse. Silhouette never fails to dissappoint us.

FORMOSA PARK MUSETTE

Sire: Estashan (imp Ger) (Malik (Ger) x Estasha (Ger))

Dam: Chip Chase Murina (Cherokee Mecca x Murral)

Registered No: F 15641

D.O.B. 30/08/89

Colour: Grey

Height: 15.1 hands

Loves: Attention and getting dirty

Dislikes: Being rugged

Nickname: Mouse

Her nickname depicts her nature - as quiet as. We purchased her in 2002 and were attracted by her beautiful head and neck with her large dark eyes, her terrific bone and good legs and feet. She is an excellent riding type and has proved to be a very quiet reliable horse around the property. We didn't know whether she was broken in or not when we bought her but one day we decided to saddle her up and see how she was. She proved to be no problem at all, a little unbalance but very accepting of things. She didn't have much education but was happy and willing to give anything a go. She really enjoys going out on rides and appears to be almost bombproof. We have only bred her once to Fame and she produced a very beautiful chestnut filly Hume Creek Alysha.   If  we are in a position to breed more foals, Mouse will definately be on the list.

HUME CREEK SHADOW

D.O.B. 1986

Height: 14.1 1/4 hands

Colour: Grey

Loves: Food, babysitting foals and bossing the other horses.

Dislikes: Not eating

Nickname: Shad

Shadow was purchased as a 2 year old and was bought as a pony our children could learn to ride on. She was quiet and safe but also had good legs and good conformation. Shadow has proven to be a wonderful little horse and took our daughter Dianna to many wins and championships at local shows and gymkhanas. She is such a reliable horse, she will carry beginners around the property safely and has taught many children to ride over the years. She was bred to Fame in 1995 and produced the fantastic gelding Hume Creek Top Cat. T.C. as he is known was sold as a four year old and proved to be as reliable as his dam, (with a little bit more spark in his step!) won countless ribbons and championships in the Southern NSW and ACT region. He is still giving much joy to his young owner Emily, who does everything with him, pony club, dressage, shows, trails you name it! Unfortunately, Shadow never produced another foal for us but she is a big part of our family and will never be sold. These days, she is still used on the property and continues to teach children to ride. But her favourite job is babysitting our weanlings. She is an excellent minder and the foals love her. She is the smallest mature horse on the place but she demands respect from all the others. She is certainly the head mare here.
